Eddie Corps Runway Show – Collaboration with Oriane Sossah – SS26 Collection “A Breath of Edo: Painting in Motion”
On October 1st, 2025, at Asnières-sur-Seine Town Hall, designer Eddie Corps unveiled his SS26 collection — a hybrid tribute to the Japan of the Edo period and contemporary creation.
One of the highlights was a hand-painted haori-coat by artist Oriane Sossah, accompanied by three unique accessories — a parasol and two fans — also hand-painted.
This collaboration was born out of a bond of friendship and mutual artistic admiration. It follows a painting Oriane had created around the cross-disciplinary choreographic artist Daniel POP, the husband of Eddie Corps. As they spoke together about their shared passion for travel, Japan, and the aesthetics of the Edo period, the idea of entrusting Oriane with a central piece of the collection emerged naturally.
Inspired by Ukiyo-e, Oriane Sossah painted a moving visual narrative, unfolding across a white haori-coat designed by Eddie. Painted with acrylic after many tests on fabric textures and pigments, the artwork depicts a symbolic journey: three women, a mountain, blooming cherry trees, a temple, and Hokusai’s wave compose a suspended landscape — a poetic passage beyond time.
The three accessories — a white parasol adorned with a golden tree, a blue lotus fan with gradients, and a sun fan with golden circles — enrich the narrative while paying homage to traditional Japanese motifs.
“It was a great joy to be an artist among artists, exploring a new material and language in dialogue with Eddie Corps.” — Oriane Sossah
“This collaboration embodies exactly what I’m looking for: the elegance of the gesture, silent storytelling, and shared freedom.” — Eddie Corps
The haori-coat was worn by Oliwia Lis, a former top model and Oriane’s muse, during a show that was both minimalist in staging and vibrant in emotion.
Eddie Corps’ SS26 collection also welcomed other guest artists and designers, including T H E L O U S S I N E (accessories), sac. MoROPi. – where craftsmanship meets the future – visual artist Mario Nava, and natural beauty & skincare house Ere Perez, with make-up & hair by Rene Perez’s team.
The cocktail was offered by the brand Sassy, a symbol of bold and refined French art de vivre.
A scenography conceived as a tribute to the living memory of fabrics, to the fluidity of form, and to the collective force of creative energy.
