On June 29th, as part of a new collaboration with the van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam, I was invited by Floral Street in London to participate in a masterclass that combined both art and perfume. The English perfumer organized this event to showcase their new creation, a fragrance inspired by the famous artist’s painting.
This second collaboration, drawing inspiration from Vincent van Gogh’s Blossoming Almond Tree, follows in the footsteps of Floral Street’s Sunflower Pop fragrance, which already paid homage to the renowned painting Sunflowers. I am particularly fond of this type of floral and colorful art, which aligns with the style of painting I love to create. This collaboration resonates with the “Colors of Spring” exhibition I organized last May, which celebrated the vibrant hues that emerge during the Spring season.
The masterclass was a truly wonderful experience: the idea of merging these two distinct worlds is bold and highly successful. When you smell this fragrance, you feel as if you were transported into the artist’s universe, perceiving all the emotions he sought to convey in his painting. The perfume allows us to approach van Gogh’s artworks through a new sense, smell, enabling us to discover them from a fresh perspective and appreciate them even more.
It was also a pleasure and an honor to meet Floral Street’s CEO, Michelle Feeney, an inspiring and dedicated woman who shares my passion for art.
