First prize for student creativity, 10 years later
Ten years ago, on April 18, 2014, I won the prestigious first prize for student creativity at the University of Angers. For the record, I entered the competition while completing my final year of study in China at Ningbo University’s International College.
The competition brief was clear: to design a new flagship object for the graduating class that would symbolize the university and enhance its image. The result was the Boule-de-fort UA USB Key.
This key was a fusion of tradition, cutting-edge technology and style. Indeed, boule-de-fort, the traditional game so cherished in the Pays de la Loire region, suddenly became the symbol of innovation, packaged in a USB key. A tribute to France’s intangible cultural heritage, an ode to modernity.
This first creative prize revealed my attraction to art, but it also paved the way for many other creative initiatives. This victory remains a precious memory for which I have few souvenir photos, as it was my mother who had the honor of going on stage to receive my prize.
10 years later, I’d like to thank the University of Angers once again, and give a special mention to my professors Géraldine Baupin and Hélène Pébarthe-Désiré.
