I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Airs de Paris for their presence at the Arts and Culture Dinner, which took place on September 25th at the Hôtel Marcel Dassault in Paris. Their article highlights this exceptional event, celebrating various forms of art.
This dinner also featured the presence of many cultural figures, including myself! This media coverage reflects the vitality of Paris’s artistic scene. Such events make it even more dynamic and inspiring.
My painting, titled Alain Delon, is a heartfelt tribute to an iconic figure of French cinema. This work allowed me to explore themes that are dear to me: strength, elegance, and timeless generosity. The inspiration behind this creation came during the visit of the Ukrainian Minister of Culture to the Cultural Institute of the Ukrainian Embassy in Paris, in November 2021. The setting of this visit, Alain Delon’s former residence at 22 Avenue de Messine, left a deep impression on me. This emblematic place, steeped in the history of French cinema, became the starting point for a unique artistic mission: to create a canvas to honor the memory of the actor.
With the encouragement of the ambassador and after several months of exchanges, I embarked on the creation of five paintings. One of them, Alain Delon vu du 22, is a monumental work measuring 140 x 100 cm. The deep blue of the heavy doors at 22 Avenue de Messine inspired my palette, evoking both Delon’s piercing eyes and his iconic role in films like La Piscine. This painting portrays a spectral Delon, like a timeless shadow that continues to haunt the places he has left his mark on.
